Data Scientist - Project Manager

DeShaun (DB) Bennett uses his experience as a Data Scientist to ensure Artificial Intelligence (AI) and

Algorithmic systems are equitable and trustworthy. As a Data Scientist and Technical Advisor with the IBM AI

Ethics Office, he was responsible for assisting with the creation of the AI governance model, methodology

framework, Developer and Data Scientist Playbook, and Algorithmic Impact Assessment to ensure that all

IBM’s AI and Algorithmic products whether developed or procured, were fair, explainable, private, transparent,

and robust. Having a background in Advanced Analytics and Assessments, DB has a vast amount of project

experience ranging from project work focused on employee evaluations and professional development for

school districts, to building predictive and forecast models for consumer product companies. DB is a creative

who has expertise in multi-media sound and print and has worked with and designed self-guided equity

training tools for nationally recognized corporations as well as short and long form content, documentaries,

product commercials for various creatives and brands. He uses his diverse background to develop creative

solutions to meet the needs of the clients he works with while approaching all projects in a way that centers

racial equity.
